Nova Scotia is one of Canada’s Maritime Provinces, along with New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Nova Scotia is well known because it became the place of the first permanent European settlement in North America north of Florida when the French established a fur-trading post in 1605.
Nova Scotia has a diversified economy based on land and sea resources. It is noticeable that traditional industries such as fishing, forestry, and mining are in decline.
Meanwhile, other service industries such as tourism, supply chain, educational and financial services, health and social services, restaurants, hotels, and government employment are booming across the province.
